As part of ITLA Security Fest 2024, we celebrated the grand final of the ITLA–Pentraze CTF, a competition that put the technical skills, creativity, and perseverance of future cybersecurity professionals to the test.
More than a tournament, it was a true experiential laboratory where participants demonstrated that the future of cybersecurity is in good hands.
The competition was intense from the very beginning. Finalists faced challenges that demanded critical analysis, technical mastery, and strategic thinking, turning each challenge into an opportunity to learn and grow, both individually and as a team.
Competition Winners
🥇 LockBit: Justin Alexander Mata Olmos and Johan Salvador Aybar Hernández
🥈 /dev/null: Kevin Stivenson González Sena and Exkendy Brairon Santos Polanco
🥉 JBalaguer: Brandon Lorenzo Liberata and Ángel Gabriel Gil Rojas
In recognition of their performance, Justin Mata (first place) and Kevin González (second place) were selected to complete an internship at Pentraze and subsequently joined the team as Junior Red Team Operators.
In addition, two other participants were selected to join the company under the same program, reaffirming Pentraze’s commitment to developing new cybersecurity talent.
We will continue working alongside ITLA to create spaces where education, innovation, and a passion for cybersecurity come together to shape the next generation of experts in the field.
