Pentraze Cybersecurity and Universidad Central del Este (UCE) signed an academic cooperation agreement with the aim of strengthening the connection between academia and industry, promoting new training and development opportunities for students in the technology field, especially in cybersecurity.
The signing ceremony was led by Minister José A. Hazim Torres, rector of the Universidad Central del Este, and by Huáscar Tejeda, Co-Founder, President and CEO of Pentraze Cybersecurity. The event was also attended by academic authorities from the university, including Richard Peguero, Executive Vice Rector; Ambar Zorrilla, Academic Vice Rector; Elizabeth Reyes, Vice Rector of Communications and Services; and Sandra Olaya, Director of the Department of National and International Relations, along with directors from various schools and faculties of the institution.
Through this alliance, both institutions will promote initiatives aimed at enriching students’ education through professional internship and placement programs, as well as the organization of specialized talks and conferences, research projects, and other academic activities that bring students closer to real industry scenarios.
The agreement also includes Pentraze’s collaboration in academic development initiatives, including its participation in advisory committees of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, as well as in curriculum review and update processes, contributing industry perspective and experience in the field of cybersecurity.
As part of this collaboration, Pentraze will support the Universidad Central del Este in the training of the first cohort of students in its Cybersecurity program, contributing from the industry to strengthen the technical competencies and professional preparation of future specialists in the sector.
For Pentraze, this alliance represents an opportunity to continue reaffirming its commitment to the development of cybersecurity talent and to strengthening the country’s technological ecosystem.
With this partnership, Pentraze and the Universidad Central del Este reaffirm their commitment to continue training professionals capable of contributing to the protection of the digital environment and to the growth of the technology sector in the Dominican Republic.
